Human Resource Compliance


Overview


  • Review, explain, and discuss the Human Resource (HR) function and potential needs within a non-profit organization. 

  • Recommendations on key specialty HR areas needed along with considerations on how and when to build out these areas for the non-profit organization.


Objectives


  • Overview of HR function intended to dispel fears and set a definition for HR.

  • Become familiar with typical HR structure and function along with key specialty areas within HR.

  • Typical HR roles and responsibilities within the non-profit organization (and how they vary).

  • Detailed discussion of key HR specialty areas that are priority to have within the non-profit organization.

  • Detailed discussion of HR specialty areas that can/will be needed within the non-profit organization as it grows and matures.

Bernie Frazier, SPHR is a Director of Talent Solutions for Taligent where she is responsible for helping lead the design, development, and implementation of HR and Talent solutions for small and medium sized organizations. Her expertise focuses on: executive search/recruitment, recruitment process, onboarding and orientation, outplacement, policies and procedures, strategic workforce planning, succession planning, university relations, and employer branding.

Author of, “Your Success is in YOU!: Empowering and Equipping You to Create Your Best Career Ever!,” Bernie has keynoted for numerous Fortune 500/100/50 businesses and organizations including Wells Fargo, Cisco, Emerson, and more. Her work has allowed her to serve as the “Career Coach” on KSDK’s Today in St. Louis, share job search insights on SiriusXM and KTRS 550 AM radio in St. Louis, be featured in the New York Times, and profiled in the St. Louis Business Journal.

Kirk Ross, PHR is a Partner for Taligent where he leads the overall organization along with being responsible for driving the design, development, and implementation of HR and Talent solutions for small and medium sized organizations. His expertise focuses on: executive search/recruitment, recruitment strategies and process, HR policies and procedures, university recruiting and relations, recruiting system selection/implementation, outplacement coaching, and employer branding.


Kirk's experience spans multiple industries including financial services, healthcare, professional services and technology where he has built and lead large recruiting functions.  He has a passion for working with companies on building and developing their talent and talent acquisition function.  He also volunteers for multiple community organizations to give back to his local community and serves on the Board of Directors of a non-profit, Community Value Alliance.
